As taxidermy is not my main activity, preparation and production usually take around one week. This timeframe may be extended if the specimen includes multiple accessories.

To ensure its longevity, protect it from insects by using a suitable insecticide. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and humidity, and consider placing it under a protective display case. These simple measures will help preserve your creation from external elements.

If your rat has a more noticeable odor, this is typical for this species. Small animals do not undergo special treatments, so a slight odor may be present upon arrival. By airing it out a bit, you will only notice the scent up close!

The animals I use are purchased frozen and are intended for reptile feeding.

The time required to taxidermy an animal varies depending on its size: approximately 2 hours for a rat, 2.5 hours for a hamster, and 7 hours for a rabbit. This time increases significantly when complex accessories are added.

My specialty focuses on rodents, particularly hamsters and rats, due to their manageable size for handling and acquisition. I have also worked on animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks, and mice. However, working on an animal requires having the carcass and the necessary space to store it properly, which are criteria not always easy to meet for an amateur.
-
Due to my limited experience, I prefer to focus on rodents. If your animal is a hamster, rat, or mouse, I would be happy to accept the request, as long as you are open to it taking the whimsical form of my creations, which I specialize in to ensure the best possible result. However, to avoid any issues with decomposition, it is preferable that you are located in Paris (France) or the surrounding area.

Taxidermied animals are logistically more advantageous than live ones. However, the rats I taxidermy will have the same whimsical appearance as the other rats I create.
